It is one mile south of County Road 212 and 0.4 miles north of County Road 207, approximately 100 yards off of the road. Background information: Originally from Rutherford County, North Carolina, William E. Driskill followed many family members to the Winchester area of Franklin County, Tennessee after his father, John F. Driskill, died in 1811. As the years passed, some of his siblings began to trickle south into Alabama. William followed in 1830 or 1831. He settled along Will's Creek in Northeast Alabama in the Indian lands that would become DeKalb County. His farm, between Lebanon and present-day Collinsville, was bordered later by the farm of his son-in-law, Abner McNaron. The family cemetery was placed on the boundary between the two farms. William's second son, Tolivar, received a portion of his father's land in March of 1846. William E. Driskill, Nancy and Abner McNaron, and at least one other family member all died from Typhoid Fever. After Tolivar Driskill died in 1893, the land was sold to the Rockett family. Tolivar's wife, Elizabeth Ann Carr Driskill is buried several miles away at Lusk Chapel Cemetery. Information in parenthesis ( ) was added by the submitter.
