Deed from Wiley Rucks to Calvin Lackey

November 21, 1857

This indenture made and entered into this 21st day of November A.D. 1857 
between Wiley B. Rucks and his wife Lucy W. Rucks of the County of DeKalb and 
the State of Alabama of the first part and Calvin R. Lackey of the County and 
State aforesaid of the second part Witnesseth that whereas the said party of 
the first part for and in consideration of the sum of ninety-eight dollars and 
fifty cents to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged 
that this day bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain unto the 
said Calvin R. Lackey and his wife Fanny June Lackey and to their heirs and 
assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land known as the Northeast 
quarter of southwest quarter of Section no. seven in Township no. eight of 
Range no. seven in the Coosa Land District containing thirty-nine acres and 
eighty-three hundredths to have and to hold unto the said Calvin R. Lackey and 
his wife Fannie June Lackey and their heirs and assigns forever and the said 
parties of the first part for themselves their heirs Executors and 
Administrators will warrant and defend the said title to the above bargained 
presents  to the said Calvin R. Lackey and his wife Fannie June Lackey to 
their heirs and assigns forever in bestowing whereof the parties of the first 
part hath hereunto set their hand and seals the day and year above written 
signed sealed and delivered in the presence of 
Witness:
