Driskill ckdriskill@tds.net February 27, 2005, 9:28 am Coosa Land District Written: December 10, 1844 Recorded: January 29, 1845 William Driskill deed to Jacob Gillespie DeKalb County, Alabama Deed Book B, page 121 10 December 1844 State of Alabama, DeKalb County This indenture made and entered into this tenth day of December the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty four between William Driskill and Elizabeth Driskill his wife of the first part and Jacob Gillespie of the second part. Witnesseth for and in consideration of the sum of seventy dollars and fifty cents in hand paid to the party of the first part by the party of the second part the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged the party of the first part have this day of the date hereof bargained sold aliened enfeeoff and delivered, and by these presents bargain sell alien enfeeoff and convey to the said party of the second part the following certain tract or parcel of ground situate lying and being in the County of DeKalb, Alabama on Big Wills Creek commencing at the northwest corner of the northwest quarter of Section twenty five of Township eight Range seven east in the Coosa Land District now lying with the Section line of the said Section. Thence north with the section line to the beginning containing one acre and a half of the same more or less To have and to hold the said parcel of ground with the ______ thereunto belonging to the said Jacob Gillespie his heirs and assigns forever and the party of the first part are bound therein to forever warrant the title to said land to the said Jacob Gillespie his heirs and assigns and defends the same against the claim of all persons whatsoever and especially against the heir of the party of the first part obey the covenant that they in _____ in for simple of said land. In testament whereof the said William Driskill and his wife Elizabeth Driskill have hereunto set their hand and offered their seal the day and date first above written. Casled an acting Justice of the Peace in and for the County and Sate aforesaid William Driskill and his wife Elizabeth Driskill whose names appear to the above deed who acknowledge that they signed sealed and delivered the same on the day and year. These in ______ to the aforesaid Jacob Gillespie and for the ______ therein expressed given at office under my hand and seal this 10th day of January AD 1845 A.E. Casled Justice of the Peace Sate of Alabama DeKalb County Personally appeared before me A.E. Casled an acting Justice of the Peace in and for the County and State aforesaid Elizabeth Driskill wife of William Driskill whose name appears to the foregoing deed and being by me ____ to hereby the execution of the same acknowledged that she signed sealed and delivered the same to the aforesaid Jacob Gillespie freely and voluntary and without _____ of her husband William Driskill Given under my hand and seal this 10th day of January AD 1845 A.E Casled Justice of the Peace A.S.
