Jarrell, 84: Retired sawmiller; lived in Heflin; died at Anniston Memorial Hospital after lengthy illness. Funeral services at the Anniston Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall. Guntharp Funeral Home handling burial at Bethlehem Cemetery. Survivors include Mrs. Mary Jarrell (widow); four sons: Robert Jarrell, Willie Jarrell, Charlie Jarrell (each of Heflin) and Jim Jarrell (Oxford); two daughters, Mrs. Mattie Gowens (Anniston) and Mrs. Vera Watts (Oxford); 27 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. Additional Comments: Note: I presume but do not know that the Anniston Star obits may be copyrighted -- if not, I have a copy of the original clipping in my possession and would be happy to resubmit the contents to replace this shortened/altered version. Also, the spelling of the name is incorrect on the obit -- our family records indicate ELONZO E. JARRELL. This individual was my great-grandfather. He was married previously to my great-grandmother, Ollie Lou FANT JARRELL. They were divorced. My grandmother, their daughter, was Vera Lou FANT/JARRELL WATTS.
