Marriage Bond: Thomas Jones  
DeKalb County, Alabama Marriage Book 1855-58, page 458
Filed April 05, 1886 and Recorded Apr. 21, 1886

The State of Alabama, DeKalb County:
Know all by these presents that we Thomas Jones and Thomas J. Nicholson of 
said County and State are held and firmly bound unto the State of Alabama in 
the sum of two hundred dollars to which payment will and truly to be made we 
bind ourselves our heirs Executors and Administrators each and every one of us 
and jointly and personally. Firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and 
dated this 4 day of February 1856. The condition of the above obligation is 
such that whereas a marriage is shortly intended to be celebrated between the 
above bound Thomas Jones and Lexine McKleroy. Now if there is no lawful cause 
to obstruct the said marriage then this obligation to be said otherwise to 
remain in full force and _______.

To any Judge or Justice of the Peace or Ministers of the Gospel or any other 
authorized to celebrate the Rites of Matrimony you are hereby authorized to 
celebrate the Rites of Matrimony between Thomas Jones and Lexine McKelroy and 
for so doing this shall be your warrant given under my hand and seal of office 
at office this 4 day of February 1856.

Thomas A. Jones (1833-1911), son of Sugar and Jane Jones, married Elizabeth 
Lexine McKelroy (1838-1913), daughter of Andrew and Margaret Hyler McKelroy.
