Services were at 3 p.m. from the First Baptist Church of Wetumpka with the Rev. Jackson R. Robertson officiating. Burial in Wetumpka City Cemetery with Campbell Funeral Home directing. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Sara M. Howard, Wetumpka; one son, George P. Howard, Wetumpka; one brother, Max S. Howard, Holtville; and three grandsons, George Houston Howard, II, Keith Arnold Howard, and Hal Ray Howard, all of Wetumpka. Active pallbearers were B. J. Moody, Clyde Smith, W. A. Levins, Henry J. Dunlap, Felix Macon, and Watt Jones. [Picture of Deceased Above Article] SERVICES HELD THURSDAY FOR JUDGE HOWARD Judge G. H. Howard, died Wednesday, March 10, after an extended illness. He was born October 31, 1879 one of eleven children of Mary Susan Smart and John Wilson Howard of Elmore County. Judge Howard held public office for 44 consecutive years, longer than any one man in the state of Alabama. He was the Elmore County Superintendent of Education for 14 years and served as Judge of Probate of Elmore County for 30 years retiring 18 years ago.
