From the 30 September 1823 issue of the "Village Register" of West Union, Adams County, Ohio:

"DIED at New Market, on Sunday the 21st inst. Mr. JONATHAN BEREMAN, postmaster 
at that place.
- at Philadelphia, on the 16th inst. Mrs. MARY TRUXTON, relict of the late 
Commodore Truxton in the 64th year of her age.
- in Alabama, on the 16th August, Mrs. Martha Pickens, wife of the Hon. Israel 
Pickens, Governor of the state."
