The "pants" are made of cotton, hand spun and woven, and were worn during the Revolutionary War by William Malphus, great grand-father of Rev. N.G.Baggett, of Brewton, route 2. Mr. Malphus lived on Big Escambia creek, eight miles north of Flomaton, where he died at the ripe old age of ninety years. He was from Ireland and fought in the Revolutionary War. We will send the trousers to the department of Archives and History at Montgomery, for preservation. Additional Comments: I am a descendent of N.G.Baggett and in the early 80's made a trip to Montgomery Ala. to the History and Archives to inquire about this pair of pants. The several people that I was able to speak to could tell me nothing about them. Needless to say, I was very disappointed that I was unable to look upon a pair of pants that my GGGGGrandfather had worn in the Revolutionary War!!
