The Atmore Advance Dated December 5, 1935. JAMES I. DAVIS CALLED BY DEATH Early last Wednesday death claimed one of Escambia County's most consistent and pioneer farmers, James I. Davis, aged 80, of Robinsonville section. Mr. Davis came here from Wilcox county many years ago, and was well known in this section. Funeral services were conducted Thanksgiving Day afternoon from the home of one of his daughters, Mrs. Ford McNeill at Canoe, where burial took place. The Rev. Paul Simon of Pensacola officiated. Other children beside Mrs. McNeill were Mrs. B.R. Burgess of Pensacola; Mrs. B.M. Watson of Brewton; Mrs. Anna Giddens of Repton; Mrs. John DuBose, Edinburgh, Texas; M. Davis, Mobile and Edgar Davis of Shreveport, La. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Dubose of Birmingham were among the numerous grand children who attended the final rites.
