Ray Dies At Canoe Home Mrs. Mary E. Ray, 63, of Canoe, passed away at the Atmore hospital on Sunday, April 5 after an illness of thirty days, following an attack of pneumonia. Deceased had resided in and around Canoe for the past 30 years, and had many friends in this section who grieve with relatives because of her death. Funeral services were conducted at the Canoe cemetery where internment was made. The Watson Funeral Home of Atmore and Flomaton was in charge of the arrangements. Besides her husband survivors are four sons, L. R. Ray of Atmore; W. A. Ray of Canoe; Willard Ray, of Pensacola, and Otis Ray of Mississippi; four daughters, Mrs. L. A. Brown, of Canoe, Mrs. Tate [Fate] Ballard, Canoe, Mrs. L. B. Hines, Pensacola, and Mrs. Robt. Stanton, of Jay, Fla. Additional Comments: Mary E. Ray was married to John Buchanon "Buck" Ray.
