The State of Alabama, Escambia County
To any Ordained or Licensed Ministor of the Gospel, Judge of the Cir(?) or 
PRobate Courts, or Justice of the Peace for the said county: Greeting

You are hereby authorized to celebrate the Riges of Matrimony between Mr. J. N  
Emmett and Miss Eliza Barnes and this shall be your sufficient authority for so 
doing.

Given under my hand and seal, this 21 dayof November, A.D. 1891

The above named parties were married by me at Mr. Emmett's residence near 
Pollard, Ala, on the 2(?) day of November A.D. 1891
