Written to Mrs. Elizabeth Moses Bridges from Clada Christopher, her grandson's wife. Gadsden, Ala, March 8, 1897 Mrs. Elizabeth Bridges Senoia, Ga. Dear grandmother, I recived your letter a few days ago and though it was addressed to Will, I opened it as he is in Miss. now. I was so glad to hear from you and that you were well. I am afraid you won’t think me a very truthful grand-daughter as I promised to write you when Will didn’t but as you see so far I haven’t. I am going to try and do better, I started to write you twice, but the first time Will wrote and the next time his mother did the same way, so you see I have been waiting till now. Will went to Miss. last Monday a week ago tonight - I suppose he will be back the last of the month, as I received a letter this morning, and he has a promise of some work there - I guess he will go back when he gets through here. I can’t hardly write as my little nephew keeps pulling at me - so you will just have to guess at what you can’t read. You certainly have our sympathy for you about loosing our dear brother. There was a good deal of sickness here but not much now. We have been having a good deal of rain lately. One of our iron bridges about 2 miles from town washed away Friday night and it is still raining. The folks are all well in Attalla. Mr. Gilmore is right sick, so Norton told me yesterday. We would be so glad if you could come out to see us this summer. Emmett North said he was coming, so you come along with him_ tell him we are going to look for him and Paul. Give them all my love and tell them to write to us. How is Aunt Sallie and cousin Rosa and her folks? Give every body our love and tell them to come see us. Write real soon to your Granddau.....Clada Christopher File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/al/etowah/history/letters/cladachr99gms.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/alfiles/ File size: 2.4 Kb
