Sept 2nd, 1896 Dear Mother I will write you a few lines today we are all well as common. I hope you are well, we are still having dry and hot weather. The farmers are not makeing anything here this year. I don't see what the people will do, there is a great deal of sickness here. Mrs. Wadsworth died here in Attalla two weeks ago. She was sick just two days. She was the old lady that stayed all night with us when you was here and rubbed your shoulder so good for you. I had a letter from Willie yesterday he is at the same place. June got a telegram yesterday to go to Oxford, Ala today to work he will leave at twelve o'clock. Have you ever heard any more from Ben's wife. I don't never hear anything from Nat nor Genia well as I have no news to write I will close write soon. My love to you all.
