Published July 12, 1956 Boaz Leader
Joseph William Batchelor, 49, of Boaz Route 4, died Saturday night from 
injuries sustained in a car wreck on highway 74, near Morton's Chapel.

Funeral services were held Tuesday a 2 p. m. at the Solitude Baptist Church 
with the Rev. Dewey Bouldin and Rev. Jim Dixon officating.  Burial was in the 
adjoining cemetery with Gilliespie-Barksdale directing.

Active pallbearers were Thurston Wafford, Gene Mashburn, Lowell Whitt, Ernie 
Phillips, Curt Davis and Otway Leeth.

Survivors included his wife, Mrs. Maggie Turner Batchelor; daughter, Wanda Faye 
Batchelor; mother, Mrs. Mary Batchelor; 2 brothers, Clifford Batchelor, Miami, 
Fla. And Keith Batchelor, Atlanta, Ga.; six sisters. Mrs. Clara Moore, 
Talladega, Mrs. Lela New and Mrs. Effie Mann, Atlanta, Ga., Mrs. Pearl Brooks, 
Augusta, Ga., Mrs. Ida Gamble, Gadsden and Mrs. Curtis Armstrong, Albertville.
