First Traffic Fatality of New Year Tampan, 27, Killed, 4 Injured in Crash Death, which skipped a Christmas visit to Hillsborough County Highways, claimed its first victim of 1966 late Saturday on 22nd Street. Killed in the crash of a pickup truck just east of U. S. Highway 41 was Nathan Clyde Byrd, 27, of Tampa, the driver. Officers said he died instantly when thrown from the vehicle. Four passengers, all fellow employees of Singleton Shrimp Co. of Tampa, were injured and two of them remained hospitalized yesterday. Listed in fair condition was Jeff LeSeath, 26, and in satisfactory condition was Farris E. Martin, 33. Two others, Charles Skinner, 36, based in Freeport, Tex., and Madre Wallace, 50, of 2924 Marconi, Tampa, were treated at the hospital and released. The Florida Highway Patrol reported the truck went out of control on 22nd Street on a curve, knocked down a railroad warning light and overturned. It came to rest on its top. Trooper K. E.
