Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p. m. from the Sardis Baptist Church with the Rev. Wallace Higginbotham, Rev. Ellis Herring, Rev. Rolin Clemons and Rev. Arthur Davis officiating. Burial followed in the Bethsadia Cemetery with Gillespie-Barksdale directing. Surviving are the husband, Bunyan Chamblee; one son, Kenneth Chamblee, Boaz Route 1; three daughters, Mrs. L. B. Hallmark, Route 1, Boaz, Mrs. Charles Moore, Gadsden, and Mrs. Frank Roof, Gaithersburgh, Md.; one sister, Mrs. J. H. Burks, of Moulton, Ala.; 3 brothers, Gussie McCreless, Florence, Ira McCreless, Town Creek, Willie McCreless, Moulton; and six grandchildren. The active pallbearers were A. J. Hughes, Jr., Guy Hughes, Evans Hughes, John Kirby, Howard Russell, Dossie Russell, Ewell Clemons and J. C. Birdsong. Mrs. Chamblee was a native of Etowah County and was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church.
