Jesse Elbert Cooper
Published Thursday, February 14, 1963 in The Boaz Leader
Funeral services for Jesse Elbert Cooper, 62, of Boaz Route 3, Carlisle 
Community, who died at a local hospital Sunday at 1:10 p. m. were held Tuesday 
at 2: p. m. at New Cannan Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Smith officiating.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Adams-Brown Service Funeral Home 
directing.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ira Cooper; four sons, Hoyt Cooper, Gadsden, 
I. E. and Charlie Cooper, Decatur and James Cooper, Huntsville; two daughter, 
Mrs. Hazel Smith, Gadsden and Mrs. Lucille McBrayer, Albertville; four 
brothers, James Cooper, Ft. Payne, Matt and Billy Cooper, Crossville Rt. 3 and 
Roy Cooper, Boaz; four sisters, Mrs. Ada Hicks, Ft. Payne, Mrs. Ida Bush, 
Crossville Rt. 3, Mrs. Era Bush, Albertville and Mrs. Minnie Johnson, Gadsden; 
and 12 grandchildren.
A native of DeKalb County, Mr. Cooper was a groceryman.
