The Rev. Higginbotham, Rev. George Gaskin and Rev. Ashley officiated. Burial was in adjoining cemetery. Gore-Brown Service directing. Active pallbearers were grandsons. Honorary pallbearers: Arthur McClendon, Dr. H. L. Rodgers, C. L. Weathers, T. Mabrey, D. K. Searcy, Shellie Reagan, J. B. Chamblee, George Lester, Esra Johnson, J. O. Pruett and Jess Lackey. Survivors include 7 sons, W. U. Daniels, Detroit, Mich., N. D. Daniels, Anniston, A. J.Daniels, Birmingham, O. T. Daniels, Boaz, G. R. Daniels, Seattle, Wash., J. W. Daniels, Fairfield and J. B. Daniels, Fairfield; 6 daughters, Mrs. Jewell Phillips, Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Jessie Weathers, Boaz, Mrs. Gertrude Miller, Jacksonville, Mrs. Lola Hayes, Birmingham, Mrs. Viola Moon, Oklahoma City, Okla., Mrs. Alice Denson, Palicoma, Calif.; 3 step- daughters, Mrs. Lillie McDonald, Boaz, Mrs. Annie Clay, Boaz, Mrs. Tennie Howell, Jacksonville; 2 brothers, Mr. Ed Daniels, Atlanta, Ga., Mr. Ike Daniels, Oklahoma City, Okla.; 1 sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Watwood, Washington, D. C.; 36 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Mr. Daniels was a retired farmer and a native of Clay County, but had lived in Etowah County for the past fifty years. He had been a justice of peace in Etowah County for 35 years. He was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church.
