Funeral services for Mrs. Mae Alewine Gaines, 87, of Boaz Route 5, who died at 
the Boaz Nursing Home were held on Friday at 4:30 p. m. at the Sardis Baptist 
Church with the Revs. Scott Bryant and Ralph Rosser officiating.  Burial 
followed in the adjoining cemetery with Carr Funeral Home directing.
She is survived by a daughter, Miss Eune M. Gaines of Gadsden; sons, Cyril and 
Curtis Gaines of Boaz, James Gaines of Attalla and Herman Gaines of East 
Gadsden; sisters, Mrs. Ray Sanford, Mrs. Stella Steekly, both of Boaz, Mrs. 
John McElmoyle of California; brother, Joe Alewine of Boaz; six grandchildren 
and 9 great-grandchildren.
