Irvin Monroe Hammett, 71, of Piedmont Route 4, died Monday at 10:15 p. m. after 
a brief illness.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Flora Hammett; sons, V. E. Hammett, Altoona Route 
2, Floyd Hammett, Pinson, Glenn Hammett, Boaz; step-daughter, Mrs. Dealvia 
Rich, Piedmont Route 4; brother, Doy Hammett, Howelton; sister, Mrs. Vicie Hill 
of Boaz Route 5; half-brothers, Odean Hammett, Attalla, Perry and Raymond 
Hammett, Pontiac, Mich.; half-sisters, Mrs. Daisy Morris and Mrs. Lois Hawkins 
of Samantha.
Services were held Wednesday from the Mt. Zion Church of God, Blount County, 
with Revs. W. E. Hodo, Charles Jarrell and W. E. Mostella officiating.  Burial 
was in Aurora Cemetery.
