Funeral services for Mrs. Lula Pearl Hammett, 76, of Altoona Route 3, who died 
Sunday in a Blount County hospital, were held on Monday at Red Apple Baptist 
Church with the Revs. Pat Taylor and Frank Umphrey officiating.  Burial was in 
the adjoining cemetery with Carr Funeral Home directing.
She is survived by her husband, Willie Hammett; sons, Uther Hammett, Boaz Route 
6, L. B. Hammett, Boaz Route 3; mother, Mrs. Lula Thomas of Gadsden; sisters, 
Mrs. Nora Dover, Mrs. Maud Knight, Mrs. Irene Everheart, East Gadsden and Mrs. 
Bertie Helms, Gadsden; brothers, Dewey Marsh, Gadsden Route 8, Dee Thomas, 
Gadsden; three grandsons and two granddaughters.
Mrs. Hammett was a native of Etowah County and was a Baptist.
