He was a very prominent merchant of the Whitesboro Community, having had a store there for the past ten years. He was the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. J. K. Johnson of Boaz. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mattie Johnson, Boaz Rt. 1; two brothers, Bob Johnson, Guntersville, Ala., Bud Johnson, Cincinnati, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Ceile Amberson, Boaz, Ala.; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Sunday April 15th at 2:00 p.m. From the Whitesboro Baptist Church with the Rev. Hugh Chandler and Rev. G. S. Gaskin officiating. Pallbearers Brown Hallmark, Louie Naylor, Marvin Smith, W. E. Mashburn, Ozzie Bloodsworth and H. Whitt. Honorary pallbearers were Jake Owen, R. S. Leeth, Rev. Jimmy Jacobs, O. C. Todd, H.O. Chitwood, Bill Amberson, Shelley Reagan, Dr. H. L. Rogers, Carey Morton, Dr. J. L. Hughes, Clifford Richards, Oscar Horton, Tom Cooper, Joe Gaskin and Ernest Gaskin. Flower girls were Mrs. H. L. Leeth, Mrs. Leon Jacobs, Mrs. Ozzie Bloodsworth, Mrs. Brown Hallmark, Mrs. Stella Whitt, Mrs. Guy Bynum, and Mrs. Helen Whitt. Burial was in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Boaz with Jack Lee-Brown Service Funerasl Home of Boaz directing.
