C. (SON) MADDOX A. C. (Son) Maddox 61, 1712 Alabama Street, Attalla, died yesterday at 10 a.m., in a local hospital following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m., in Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Curtiston, with the Revs. Kenneth Spears, Lee Gibbs and J. P. West officiating. Burial will be in Forrest Cemetery, Collier-Butler Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Active pallbearers will be members of American Legion Post 71. Honorary pallbearers will be all personal friends. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Leila Haney Maddox; son, Ralph Maddox, Attalla; a daughter, Mrs. Dewey Colvin, Attalla; his father, William H. Maddox, Gadsden; seven sisters, Mrs. Coleman Bussey, Hokes Bluff; Mrs. Frank Waters, Attalla; Mrs. Leonard Smith, Talladega; Mrs. Noah Butt, Atlanta; Mrs. Charles Daviston, Clearwater, Fla; Mrs. Floyd Brown, St. Augustine, Fla., and Mrs. Manuel Clikas, Mobile; three brothers, Roscoe Maddox, Gadsden; Dan Maddox, Clarksville, Tenn., and Harvey Maddox, Atlanta, and 10 grandchildren. Mr. Maddox was a native of Munford and a former resident of Anniston, but had lived in Etowah County for the past 38 years. He had served as a Justice of Peace in Attalla for the past three years. Mr. Maddox was a member of Oak Grove Baptist church in Munford, a member of American Legion Post 71 in Attalla, Etowah County 40 & 8 and the Oddfellows Lodge.
