Funeral services were held Monday at 3 p. m. at Sardis Baptist Church with the Revs. Scott Bryant and Wallace Higginbotham officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Gillespie-Barksdale in charge. A native of Etowah County, Mr. Maise had been active in every phase of the church at Sardis. He was a teacher for ten years, was a general superintendent of the Sunday School for two years, was director of the church choir for many years. He is a past president of the Sardis PTA, a singing school teacher, a composer of gospel music, and a veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Loray Flassco Maise; a son, Lourie, Arab; his mother, Mrs. D. N. Wise, Boaz Route 1; a brother, Lamar Maise, Boaz Rt. 1; three sisters, Mrs. Brock Hill, Attalla Rt. 1, Mrs. Howard Broadwell, and Mrs. Carl Gaines, Boaz Rt. 1.
