The accident happened about 1 a. m. Saturday about 35 miles south of Meridian, Miss., on highway 80. Mashburn was enroute to Marshall Butane Co., with whom he was employed. He is survived by his wife, Naomi Rollins Mashburn; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Drain of Rodentown; a grandaughter; two step-sisters; and a step-mother, Mrs. Icie Bell Milwee, Attalla. Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Sunday at Smith's Chapel Methodist Church with Revs. Monroe Coalson and Horace Hembree officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Gillespie-Barksdale in charge. Active pallbearers were Irby Isreal, Kermit Kidd, Grady Dunlap, Martis Cotton, Jewell Peak and I. V. Dye. Honorary pallbearers included J. D. Lay, J. L. Lay, the employees of Marshall Butane Gas Co. and all personal friends. Mr. Mashburn was a native of Etowah County, a former employ of Boaz Mills and a veteran of World War II.
