Local Soldier Dies In Italy

Sp/4 Arthur Glenn McGahee, 26, was killed in an automobile accident in Verona, 
Italy on May 29th.  The body will arrive in Attalla this morning, Thursday at 
8:45 and will be carried to the home of his parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. 
Patterson in the Sardis Community.
Funeral services are to be held at 2:00 p. m. Friday at the Sardis Baptist 
Church with the Rev Scott Bryant officiating.  Military rites will be conducted 
at the graveside,  Gillespie-Barksdale Funeral Home will be in charge of 
arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Peggy Patterson McGahee; a son, Rickey Wayne, 
both of Boaz Rt. 5; his mother, Mrs. Sidney Barrett; step-father, Mr. Barrett, 
both of Albertville; a brother, Bobby C. McGahee, Boaz; a sister, Mrfs. Joyce 
Walker, Huntsville.
Sp/4 McGahee was a native of DeKalb County, the Geraldine Community and had 
been in the service for seven years.
