Neely Henry Dam in St. Clair County when he stepped into water over his head while wading. Pronounced dead on arrival at a local hospital was Joseph Henry McRae, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas McRae, 10 Commack St., Alabama City. The father swam out and rescued the two other children, Charlene, 11, and Jack, 6, but was unable to locate the 3-year-old for 25 minutes. Mouth-to-mouth resuscitation was given by Bobby Noles. McRae, participating in yesterday's Civil Air Patrol Search and Rescue Mission, was required to be in the Greensport area, and had taken his family on an outing. ******************************************************************************** *********** Obituary from The Gadsden Times McRae, Joseph Henry, 3-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas L. McRae of 10 Commock Street died Sunday from drowning at Greensport. Survivors other than the parents are sisters, Dianne and Charlene McRae; brothers, Randy, Jack and Paul McRae, all of Gadsden; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Forney Johnson, Rt. 3, Altoona; Mrs. Inez McRae, Gadsden; great-grandfather, T. H. McRae, Gadsden. Services Tuesday 3:30 p. m. Collier - Butler with Revs. Wade Walton and Chester O'Donnell officiating. Burial Clayton Cemetery. Active pallbearers Homer Williams, Clyde Williams, Louie Williams, Floyd Williams, Rudolph Wall, Charles Delevie. The body will remain at Collier - Butler Chapel through the hour of service.
