Julius F. Morgan, Sr.

Julius Frank Morgan, Sr., 73, 310 Webster Street, died at 1:40 p.m. yesterday 
in a local hospital after a short illness.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. tomorrow in West End Baptist Church 
with the Revs. A. A. Houghton, David Homan and R. O. Fincher officiating. 
Burial will be in Forrest Cemetery, Collier-Butler Funeral Home in charge of 
arrangements.

Active pall bearers will be Roy Wood, Terry Walker, R. L. Campbell, J. B. 
Pruitt, Elmus Kidd and Bob Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the 
board of deacons of the We End Baptist Church and all other personal friends.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. C. W. Dawson, Gadsden Route 1, and Mrs. C. 
A. Hawkins, Huntsville; four sons, W. A., Bill and Lee D. Morgan, all of 
Gadsden, and J. F. Morgan, Jr., Huntsville; 15 grandchildren and two great-
grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Melvin Parris, Rainsville, Mrs. Vande 
Foshee, Douglas, Mrs. Mary Bodine, Arab and Mrs. V. S. Martin, Dover, Fla.; 
four brothers, J. G. Morgan, Gadsden, John Morgan, Birmingham, Dee Morgan 
Rainsville, and Will Morgan, Italy, Tex.

Mr. Morgan was retired after being an employee of Republic Steel Corporation 
for 33 years. He was a member of the West End Baptist church and the board of 
deacons, and was a member of Dwight Lodge No. 55, F&AM.

He was a native of Cherokee County and a resident of Etowah County for the 
past 43 years.
