Funeral services will be held today, Thursday at 3:00 p. m. for Mrs. B. D. 
Noel, at Sardis Baptist Church with Gillespie-Barksdale Funeral Home 
directing.  The Revs. Scott Bryant and Kress Davis will officiate.
Mrs. Noel passed away at 9:45 Tuesday in a Gadsden Hospital following one week 
of illness.
Survivors include two sons, Elton Noel of Boaz and Lieut. Col. W. H. Noel of 
the U. S. Air Force stationed in Harmon AFB Newfoundland; two daughters, Mrs. 
Lillian Burke, Boaz Rt. 5 and Mrs. Clarence Coe, Mobile; eight grandchildren; 
three sisters, Mrs. T. Mizell, Boaz Rt. 5, Mrs. Connie Hammond, Albertville Rt. 
3 and Mrs. Sula Holderfield of Boaz Rt. 3.
Mrs. Noel is a native of Georgia, but came to Sand Mountain 53 years ago.  She 
was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church and the wife of the late Brazilla D. 
Noel (April 30, 1894 – June 20, 1954).
Active pallbearers will be Theodore Pritchett, Dossie Russell, Ezra Johnson, 
Buea Lee, Chester Noblitt and Ben Smith.
Honorary pallbearers include Grady Bolden, Luther Martin, Odis Aldridge, John 
Kilpatrick, Thomas Cox, Raymond Knight and the Deacons of the Sardis Baptist 
Church.
