She died June 2, 1899 at Hokes Bluff. QUOTE: Page 2 under "Odds and Ends" _Gadsden Times-News_, Tuesday, June 6, 1899: "Good old Sister Norton, who died at the residence of her son-in-law, J.D. Pentecost, last Friday night, was buried here Sunday morning. Another sweet spirited Christian has gone to make heaven brighter and more desirable." END of QUOTATION from the _Gadsden Times-News_ Additional Comments: Terrenton Norton, son of John G Norton of Virginia, was born in October of 1817, N.C., and is known to have died on Sunday, December 23, 1900 at the home of his daughter in Hokes Bluff, Etowah County, Alabama. He married Martha Elizabeth Holt on February 19, 1857 in Fayette County, Georgia. His spouse, Martha Elizabeth Holt Norton, preceded Terrenton in death on Friday, June 2, 1899 at Hokes Bluff, Etowah County, Alabama. They are both interred at the Old Hokes Bluff Cemetery.
