                Rome, Georgia in 1944; studied at
                the University of Tennessee and Vanderbuilt
                University; M.A. in history from
                the University of Tennessee in 1946; Ed.D
                from the University of Southern Mississippi
Occupation:     Teacher and administrator in Tennessee,
                Alabama, Florida, Virginia and Texas;
                fourteen years with the Carrollton-Farmers
                Branch Independent School District
Other service:  District chairman, Boy Scouts of America, receiving
                the Silver Beaver Award; past president of the
                Carrollton-Farmer's Rotary Club, named Paul 
                Harris Fellow; past president of the Metrocrest
                Medical Foundation; National Director of the
                Florida Jaycees.
Religion:       Elder and clerk of the session for the Covenant 
                Presbyterian Church, Carrollton
Survivors:      Wife of 38 years, daughter, two sons and their wives,
                a sister and brother-in-law, a niece and nephew.
