Sunday in a Gadsden hospital were held on Tuesday at 11:00 a. m. at Gillespie-Barksdale Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Scott Bryant and Ray Jackson officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery with Gillespie-Barksdale Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Active pallbearers were Milton and Jimmy Scott, Randall W. Johnson, Billy Ray McKee, James England and Philip Duke. Survivors include her husband, L. A. Pitchford, Boaz; three sons, Cecil Pitchford, Boaz, Clyde Pitchford, New Johnsonville, Tenn., and Sgt. Tom Pitchford, U. S. Airforce, Montgomery; three daughters, Mrs. Minnie Scott, Albertville, Mrs. Pauline Johnson, Gadsden, and Mrs. Dorothy Watson, Attalla; a brother, L. C. McGee, Tallassee; 14 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Pitchford, a native of Tallapoosa County, has resided on Sand Mountain for 34 years and was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church.
