Elliot J. Pointer

Elliot J. Pointer, 61, of 1200 Darmouth St., Gadsden, died suddenly in Rome, 
[Floyd County] Ga., Thursday at 3:15 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Beulah Baptist Church, 
Fyffe, with the Rev. Mr. Swann and the Rev. Lonnie F. Braddy officiating. 
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery, Jennings Funeral Home of Rome, GA., 
in charge of arrangements.

Active pall bearers will be Robert and Clyde Guyton, Doyle and Jack Chumbler, 
Otis and W. W. Traffenstedt.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bell Chumbler Pointer; a son Ralph Pointer of 
Rome, Ga.; a brother, Jesse Pointer, Atlanta; a sister, Mrs. Maggie Chumbler, 
Gaylesville, and two grandchildren.

A naitve of DeKalb county, Mr. Pointer had lived in Gadsden most of his life 
and was employed by the City of Gadsden, until his retirement. He was a member 
of Henry Street Baptist Church.

The body will remain at the residence from 4:30 p.m. until the hour of service.
