MISS CLAUDIA POWELL

Miss Claudia Powell age 80 of Carlisle died at her home Thursday Dec. 9 at 7 a. 
m. after a long illness.
     Funeral services were held Friday at 2 p. m. from the Carlisle Baptist 
Church with Rev. Kress Davis and Rev. Arthur Davis officiating.
     Burial followed in the Thrasher Cemetery with Gillespie-Barksdale 
directing.
     Active pallbearers were Bennis Little, Gerald Golden, Ed Golden, Norris 
Golden, Luther Smith and Clyde Daniel.
     Survivors include 1 foster son, Johnny Powell, Carlisle; 1 brother, Bob 
Powell, Arona; 1 sister, Mrs. Annie Harris, Mountainboro and a number of nieces 
and nephews.
