Ben L. Smith, 71, of Boaz Route 5, Sardis Community died Wednesday morning at 
his home.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Nettie Logan Smith; two daughters, Mrs. 
Woodrow Wells, Boaz, Mrs. Robert Cox, Mobile; three sons, Macon Smith, Andrew, 
N. Y., William N. Smith, Jacksonville, Fla., Felton L. Smith, Boaz Route 5; two 
sisters, Mrs. Will Boyd, Oneonta and Mrs. Verna Curry, Albertville; two 
brothers, Bob Smith, Boaz and Charlie Smith of Guntersville; and 12 
grandchildren.
Mr. Smith was a native of this area and lived most of his life here.  He was a 
farmer and a member of the Sardis Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p. m. at Sardis Baptist Church 
with the Revs. Scott Bryant, Wallace Higginbotham and Arthur Davis 
officiating.  Burial will be held in Red Apple Cemetery with Gillespie-
Barksdale Funeral home in charge of arrangements.
