Published November 6, 1952 in The Boaz Leader
John Robert Walls, 49, of Rt. 6, Boaz, died suddenly Saturday afternoon from 
gun shot wounds.
Funeral services were held on Monday at 2 p. m. from Walls Chapel Church of God 
with Rev. Nolan Wright, Rev. A. N. Lee and Rev. Maxwell Reed officiating.
Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery with Gillespie-Barksdale Funeral Home 
directing.
The active pallbearers were T. L. Pullen, J. D. Pullen, Clifton Kelley, B. B. 
Robinson, Brad Sexton and Dumas Davis.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Leona Claborn Walls, Rt. 6, Boaz; three sons, 
James David, K. D. and Robert; 4 daughters, Mrs. Naomia Clemmons, Mrs. Avon 
McWhorter, Carolyn and Gertrude Walls, all of Rt. 6, Boaz; his mother, Mrs. S. 
L. Walls; three brothers, Luther Walls, S. L. Walls, both of Boaz, Louie Walls, 
Attalla; four sisters, Mrs. Savola McWhorter, Mrs. Clara Allen, Mrs. Eunice 
Dobbins and Miss Ethel Walls, all of Rt. 6, Boaz; three grandchildren.
