Funeral services for Samuel Walter Whitt, 88, of Boaz Route 1, who died 
Saturday at the residence, following an extended illness were held on Monday at 
Happy Hill Baptist Church with Revs. Melvin Sherbert, Brown Hallmark and Emory 
Pankey officiating.
Burial followed in Kyuka Cemetery with Carr Funeral Home directing.
Survivors included daughters, Mrs. Lillie Stonicher and Mrs. Mabel Hill, Boaz, 
and Mrs. Julia Maroney, Boaz Route 1; sons, Loy Whitt, Boaz, Floyd Whitt, 
Attalla; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-
grandchildren.
A native of Etowah County, Mr. Whitt was a farmer.
