Luther M. Whitt
Published Thursday, January 27, 1949 in The Boaz Leader
Mr. Luther M. Whitt, age 61 of Boaz Rt. 5 died Thursday in a Gadsden Hospital 
at 12:15 p. m. of a heart attack.  Mr. Whitt was well known.   He had lived his 
life in this vicinity.  He joined the Baptist Church at Sardis 38 years ago and 
had been a loyal and active member.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Dovie Collier Whitt and 5 children, 2 sons, Wallace 
and Roy of Boaz; 3 daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Morton and Mrs. Mamie Smith of Boaz 
and Mrs. Lucile Douglas of Gadsden; 1 brother, J. T. Whitt of Boaz; 1 sister, 
Mrs. Alice Morton of Sanford, N. C.
Funeral services will be held at Sardis Thursday at 11:00 a. m. with the Rev. 
Roland Clemons, Rev J. M. Gaines and Rev. Pat Gardner officiating with 
Drinkards directing.  Interment in the church cemetery.
