Mitchell. "At 6 o'clock Miss Annie Wallace Daniels sounded the notes of the wedding march. The library door opened and two young couples came out bearing white ribbons with which they formed an aisle for the bridal party. They were Miss Mary Manly Elmore with Master Fern Wood Ham, Miss Katherine Wood with Master Charles Ham. The ushers were Messrs. Moses Kohn, Harry Montgomery, Tracy Lay and M____ Foster. The attendants were Miss Mary Dortch of Gadsden with Mr. Fern Wood Mitchell, Miss Hattie Allen of Gainesville, Ga., with Mr. Shepard Roberts. The groom, Mr. F. H. Elmore with his brother, C. G. Elmore. Last came the bride, Miss Sadie Mitchell, accompanied by her sister, Miss Uryra [sic-Myra] Mitchell. Rev. Sturdivant, pastor of the Methodist church performed the ceremony and immediately a large heart, suspended over their heads, opened and a shower of rose petals fell upon them. The bride was attired in white silk mouseline with lace and orange blossoms and shower bouquet of brides roses. The bridesmaids in pink dotted silk net carrying shower bouquet carnations. There were many friends in attendance and quite a number of the bride's school mates came from other towns and made a merry house party. The bride as Miss Mitchel has enjoyed wide popularity and will be a charming acquisition to Montgomery society. The bridegroom, Mr. Elmore, is a successful young business man and represents one of the oldest and most prominent families in the state. Montgomery Advertiser 10 Jan 1903 Vol. LXXIV issue 9 p 8 One of the most beautiful home weddings of the season was that of Miss Sadie Mitchell and Franklin Harper Elmore, which occurred Wednesday evening at 6 o'clock at Edgemont, the beautiful home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Mitchell. The ceremony was performed by Rev. J. F. Sturdivant, pastor of the First Methodist Church. The house was beautifully decorated with palms, ferns and cut flowers, and was a lovely scene. Immediately after the cermony the couple left for St. Augustine, Fla., where they will spend several weeks and from there they will go to Montgomery where they will reside. The bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Mitchell, and is one of the most lovely young women in Alabama. Mr. Elmore is a prominent young business man of Montgomery, and has many friends here.
