Etowah County Marriage Records- Book B, Page 599-A
The State of Alabama, Etowah County-To any ordained Minister of the Gospel, 
Judge of the Circuit or Probate Courts, or Justice of the Peace for said 
County---Greeting: 
   You are hereby Authorized to celebrate the Rites of Matrimony between L. L.
Whitton and T. C. Oliver this shall be your sufficient authority for so doing. 
Given under my hand and seal this 17th day of Decr A. D. 1884-L.
E. Hamlin, Judge of Probate. 
   The above named parties were married by me at Residence of E. Ellis on the
18 day of Decr A.D. 1884-E. Ellis, M. G.


The State of Alabama, Etowah County
   Know all Men by these Presents, That we, L. L. Whitten and W. A. Little are 
held and firmly bound unto the State of Alabama in the sum of Five Hundred 
Dollars, to the which payment, well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, 
our heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, jointly and severally, firmly
by these presents.
   Sealed with our seals and dated this 17th day of Decr 1884.
   The Condition of the above obligation is such, that if there be no legal 
cause to obstruct the Marriage of L. L. Whitten and T.C. Oliver to whom a
License has this day been granted, then to be void; else to remain in full 
force and virtue.
   Witness our hands and seals the day and year above written.
