Probate Court August Term 1854 Letters of Adminstration granted to GABRIEL SHIRLEY
Aug. 30, 1854  of 
Came this day Gabriel Shirley made application to the court for appointment as
administrator of the Estate 
of  JOSHUA SHIRLEY, late of said county deceased...as next of kin and given bond of
$80,000 eighty 
thousand dollars as required by law, with Asa Randol, George E.Spruill. James
Randol, Joel B. Randol, C.D. 
Lawrence, James H. Madison, D.Loftis, John D. Walker,Thomas Wolstenholme, and
Charles F. Betts as his 
securities...ordered filed and recorded.
June Term 1855...ordered by the court that Gabriel Shirley, administrator... make

MS., as were Lucy Shirley Wood's heirs and Martha (Ann), (Mary) Cornelia, and
Caroline Olivia Shirley- 
minors of John Read Shirley (wife Harriet Wooldridge), deceased.
