He was one of the oldest, and perhaps the most noted, citizen of Fayette county. For some time he has been a sufferer from dropsy, and although everything has been done to cure him, little hope has been entertained for his recovery. Mr. Musgrove was truly a good man. It was his desire at all times to do something for the comfort and pleasure of his neighbor, or any one with whom he came in contact, and to show with what esteem the people of this county held him they repeatedly gave him the highest honors which it was in their power to bestow upon him. He will ever be remembered as a pious, honest and upright gentleman, and whose every-day walk is one worthy of immitation (sic). His remains will be interred in the Piny (sic) Grove cemetery [Musgrove Chapel] today (Thursday). Peace to his ashes. Additional Comments: William Anderson Musgrove was born 25 Sept. 1821. Son of John Tilden Musgrove and Susannah Thompson. Served in the Alabama House and Senate beginning in 1853. Married to Mary Frances Amelia Harris, daughter of William Hugh Harris and Mary Watkins Anderson. This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/alfiles/ File size: 1.8 Kb
