Census, Newburg P.O. He is listed as 44 years old, Male, Farming, with personal property of $2000., and the census states he gave his place of birth as Alabama. Along with James in this census is listed: His wife Martha Amer., age 36, farming, born in Alabama. His son J. Henry is listed as age 15, male, farming, born is Alabama. His daughter M. Jane, listed as age 12, female, born in Alabama. His daughter Canvesta, age 10, female, born in Alabama. His son Alonzo K., age 9, male, born in Alabama.
