Robison normadeplume@wmconnect.com August 29, 2009, 3:05 am Pension Application Revolutionary War Pension Application Information for Robert Thompson: Robert Thompson appeared 7 Oct 1822 in Lawrence County, Tennessee, age ?sixty two. He enlisted in Virginia. He lost part of his hand by accident with a butcher knife in the army. He is now a redsident ?Trewitt County, Alabama. He has no family living with him. (I don't understand Tennessee and Alabama both being mentioned.) Franklin County, Alabama, Mary Thompson, now Mary Mattock/Matlock, states she is sixty nine years of age and born in Virginia, a daughter of John Mattock/Matlock, who moved to South Carolina, ?Grinville District where she was brought up and intermarried with Garrott Rutledge there in 1791, and Garrott Rutledge died in 1795. Then the same Mary Rutledge again married the second time with Waddy Thompson in the same State and District. They had the following children: Delishe b 21 October 1795 John Thompson b February 26 1797 Robert Thompson b September 5 1798 d 29 June 1831 Nancy Thompson born and died when a child Theney/Henry Thompson July 11 1801 Waddey Thompson b August 4 1803 David Thompson b March 9 1806 Susannah Thompson b April 30 1808 Nathaniel Thompson born and died at six months Mary Thompson b 17 July 1812 William Thompson b July 22 1816 I Mary Thompson now the widow of Waddey who died 14 April 1837 do now certify that they above named children are all the children of Waddey Thompson who is now dead, she further states that she was well acquainted with Robert Thompson the brother of my husband Waddey Thompson before the marriage took place between Waddey Thompson and myself and often herd these two men speak of a brother but I never saw him nor no other relation they had nor do I know of any other heirs to this same Robert Thompsons Estate but the children of Waddey Thompson.
