Hosea Paul Collins, age 37, died on July 24, 1968, due to accident according to a coroner’s jury. He is survived by his wife, Teresa, one daughter, Susan, and two sons, Tony and Lamar; four brothers: J. T. and Raymond of Slocomb, Ala., Geneva Co.; Burey of Columbus, Ga.; and Hilton of Tallahassee, Fla.; five sisters: Mrs. Ruth Tew, Mrs. Frances Martin, and Mrs. Mildred Adkinson of Slocomb, Mrs. Yvonne Holland of Geneva, and Mrs. Bonnie Brewton of Pensacola, Fla.; his stepmother, Mrs. Maudie Burns Collins of Slocomb; and numerous other relatives. He was a firm believer in salvation by grace and is greatly mourned. He will be sadly missed by his family and a host of friends. Just a few days before his death, his father had died – H. T. Collins, who was senior deacon in the Western Primitive Baptist Association. [See obit for Hosea T. Collins who died July 14, 1968 Geneva County.] Funeral services for Hosea Paul Collins were conducted on July 26, 1968, at Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church by his pastor, Mr. George Johnson, and Elder J. J. Collins. The remains were buried beneath many flowers in the adjoining cemetery, but the spirit returned to the God Who gave it. – J. J.
