Owens, 64, of Samson Rt. 3, died Wednesday, April 12, 1989, in Wiregrass Hospital after a long illness. The funeral will be 3 p.m. today in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with the Rev. Joel Snell officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pittman Funeral Home directing. Mr. Owens was retired from Geneva Cotton Mills. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gladys Reeves Owens, Samson; two sons, Larry Owens, Dothan, Keary Owens, Samson, one brother, Edward Owens, Opelika; three sisters, Mrs. Vessie Powell, Winter Gardens, Florida, Mrs. Susie Hall, Columbus, Georgia, Mrs. Mollie Cauley, North Carolina; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
