Fowler ==================================================================== March 1999 Obit of Larry Wayne Owens - Geneva Co., AL The Dothan Eagle, Sunday, November 24, 1991 Larry Wayne Owens Larry Wayne Owens, 40, of 1106 Coggins Country Estates, Dothan, died Thursday evening, November 21, 1991, at Flowers Hospital as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on October 28. The funeral will be held today at 2 p.m. in the Kent-Thornton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ernest O'Neal officiating and Kent-Thornton Funeral Home of Dothan directing. Visitation will continue at the funeral home up until service time. The family will also receive friends at the residence, 1106 Coggins Country Estates in Dothan. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be made to the Larry Owens Donations Account, c/o First Alabama Bank, Post Office Box 6507, Dothan, Alabama 36302. A native of Columbus, Georgia, Mr. Owens moved to the Wiregrass area during his youth. He had been employed the past 11 years as an AAE&L technician for Dyncorp at Fort Rucker. He had served honorably with the U. S. Marine Corps and had been an E. M. T. volunteer with the rescue squad in Geneva. He had coached and served as an umpire with various youth athletic groups in Geneva County. A member of the local support group and a SYSOP of "The Southern Pride BBS," he was a member of the International Association of Machinists, Local 2003, and attended Memphis Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, J. W. Owens. Survivors include his wife, Pamela Jean (P. J.) Owens, Dothan; four sons, Kevin Owens, Jason Owens, both of Hartford, Blake Ray, Dothan, and Blain Ray, Humbolt, Tennessee; one daughter, Trina Ray, Dothan, one granddaughter, Hilary Owens, Geneva; one brother and sister-in-law, Keary and Lisa Owens, his mother, Gladys Owens, Samson; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends who mourn his passing. Serving as pallbearers will be Glen Mims, Charles Lay, Paul Musgrove, Roger Barnes, Michael Lynn and Odie Ramsey. (Parents: J. W. and Gladys Reeves Owens.
