H. SMITH – Geneva Co., Ala. Church Elder W. H. Smith died in a Dothan, Ala., hospital June 18, 1970, after a long illness. Funeral services were at Garden Chapel Funeral Home, Hartford, Ala., June 18, and interment was in Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church cemetery, Malvern, Ala. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. W. H. Smith; two daughters, Annie Lee and Mrs. Bonnie Ree Goodson; and a son, David Bryan of Detroit, Mich. Elder Smith was 78 years of age. He and the writer were members of the same church for many years at Wright’s Creek and were also co-pastors there. He was a prominent teacher and one of the ablest principals I ever employed. He will be sadly missed by his family and Geneva County and the Wiregrass [area] in general. – J. J.
