Burial will follow in Greensboro Cemetery with Kirk Funeral Homes Greensboro Chapel directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the Parrish House. Mr. Vick was born February 8, 1927 in Marengo County to the late David T. and Mattie Lee Maness Vick. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary LeVert Poellnitz, and his son, David T. Vick, III. Survivors include a daughter, two sisters, three grandchildren, four nephews, and one niece. Pallbearers will be Robert M. Duke, Daniel C. Duke, Stephen E. Cochran, Kenneth V. Cochran, Neal Glass, Larry Burt, Harris M. Coleman, and Sonny Wadsworth. This is how it all started…The Little Drug Company Main Street Linden, Alabama. David was their soda jerk and charmer of the ladies. David grew up from being that soda jerk to a man with strong morals, character, integrity, good will and, yes, still charmer of the ladies. David served this wonderful country in the Army and spent two years in Italy. He returned home and attended Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn) for college and continued on and received his degree in pharmacy graduating in 1952. He came back to Greensboro and bought Home Drug, which he owned for over 50 years. He loved his church, St. Paul's Episcopal. God blessed him with a beautiful tenor voice and he was a member of a gospel quartet and loved singing on the radio with his group. He was a founding member of Southern Academy. He took great pride in Greensboro and wanted to see "her" prosper. He helped out his neighbors when they needed him and he never met a stranger. He admired his family; his wife, son, daughter, and grandchildren were his life. He is now in Heaven rejoicing again with his parents, wife, Mary, and son, David. He was loved and will be missed by all.
