Martin V. Capps was a member of Co. E., 25th Ga Inf Regt. and a member of the House of Representatives of Ala. 1898-9. W.J. Capps obtained his education in the schools of Abbeville, Henry County, Ala. and Blackfoot, Idaho, and attended the S.E. Ala. Agr. School at Abbeville. He was once Justice of the Peace. He is a Democrat; a Missionary Baptist; a Mason; and a W. of W. He married, near Clopton, Henry County, Ala. Jan 21, 1904, Hettie Davis, the daughter of James M. and Julia (Lewis) Davis of Henry County, Ala.
